Elvena Hughes Davies (our grandmother, about 1905) and her brother John A. Davies (about 1915)

Our grandparents (Elvena and Cloyd Wharton) when they were courting (before their marriage in 1909)

Left: Mary E. Davies and her husband John Doherty Bloys.
Right: Mary Frances ("Fannie") Davies

Our grandmother wrote on the back of the 1st photo: "Aunt Mary and Uncle John Bloys, sister of my father".
Fannie was our grandmother's older sister. She married Henry Hartog, and they had one child named Mary.
Fannie and Grandmother were always close. Grandmother called her sister "Pres", for precious.

Two more of our grandmother's sisters, Olive Brown Davies (left) and Henryette Davies (right)

The photo of Brown, as she was called, was taken about 1890. She died of a fever soon after she was married.
Henryette never married. She taught school in Texas and kept in touch with our grandmother until she died.

Another photo of Brown from about 1890, with another one of the six sisters, Florence Davies

John Hughes Davies's wife Celia Eliza Cook with 3 of her grandchildren

The picture was taken about 1922. The two older grandchildren are Elvina Wharton's daughters Frances (left) and
Christine (our mother), and the youngest grandchild is Nancy Davies (about 2 years old), the daughter of John A.
Davies. Celia lived her last years with the Whartons (our grandparents). She was much loved and passed away on
February 24, 1929 at 85 years and 8 months of age. Celia was buried in Durant, Oklahoma. Christine recalls that
she was very religious and good to the family. She made quilts for the Wharton household, but none have survived.

Left: Ruby Davies, with her daughter Nancy, the wife and child of John A. Davies.
The photo was taken about 1922 in Oklahoma.

Right: Nancy Davies, daughter of John A. Davies and granddaughter of John Hughes Davies.
The photo was taken about 1936 in Oklahoma, when she was about 16.
