"Pebbleton", the 18th century home of Nicholas Davies

The history of our family in America begins about 1725 when young Nicholas Davies settled in colonial Virginia. He started near Williamsburg, but soon began moving west ... and into history!

Explore this Web site to learn more about his fascinating life and the lives of his hundreds of descendants, many of whom also helped to shape the history of America.

The family tree is based upon the genealogy database compiled by Dr. James David Boyle. The number of individuals in the tree is now over 5000! Congratulations Dave!

We have a few biographies that have been provided by several different family members.

We are also collecting existing historical material in the family archives.

Many of the biographies and articles in the archives first appeared in "Old Nick", our Davies Family newsletter edited by Robert Chope.

If so, please read the guidelines below.

Articles submitted for the archives will be displayed verbatim and you will be credited as the author. If you transcibe information from old letters, certificates, family bibles, etc., please identify your sources. Information based upon "Grandmother's recollections" are acceptable, if identified as such.

Biographies should be brief, but try to include important milestones and places. If the person does not already appear in the tree, provide his/her line of descent. We do not wish to risk offending anyone by revealing his/her age, so please do not include a date of birth unless you can also supply the date of death.

Please submit text by copying it directly into an e-mail message, not as an attached file. If you have any photos you wish to submit, please have them scanned into a computer and send the files as attachments to an e-mail message which identifies the subject of each photo.
